Our Story

Cute digital illustration of four cartoonish green dragonflies with smiling faces, large eyes, and blush on cheeks, some with pink or peach bows or hats, set against a plain background.

Founded by Samantha Southard (M.A. Early Childhood & Special Education) with support from her two girls & husband, Joe.

Gliders was born from a mother/teacher’s dream to create a space where children can grow, play, and feel free to express themselves. As a teacher and parent, I’ve always been passionate about giving kids what they need most, opportunities to explore, grow, create, and discover in their own unique ways. Watching my students learn from discovery, my daughter’s love for reading, arts and crafts, and sensory play inspired me to build a place where those joys could be shared with other children and families.

Gliders is more than just fun, it’s how children learn, connect, and build confidence. We offer sensory play, creative arts, and movement-based activities in an environment that feels safe, nurturing, and inspiring. Parents can feel good knowing their children are engaged in activities that spark imagination and build important developmental skills.

Our Mission

To foster creativity, curiosity, and connection through hands-on art and play experiences, recommended for ages 0–6, but open to all who wish to explore.

Why the dragonfly? The dragonfly symbolizes transformation, joy, and imagination qualities we see in children every day.

At its core, gliders is about giving children the freedom to spread their wings and giving parents the joy of watching them soar.
